What every price includes
Included in every return
- A free consultation first — the price is confirmed before any work starts.
- Preparation and review by Vadim personally, not a seasonal preparer.
- A walkthrough before filing so you understand what changed and why.
- Secure electronic filing straight to the CRA for the fastest refund.
- Help with your Notice of Assessment and any CRA follow-up letter.
What moves the price
- Number of income sources. One T4 is quick. Rental, self-employment and investments each add a schedule with its own rules.
- How organised the records are. Summarised categories cost less than a shoebox — the lower prices assume the former.
- Quantity. Three rental properties is three sets of calculations, which is why the calculator has quantity fields.
- Corporate complexity. A dormant corporation still needs a T2; an active one needs financial statements as well.
Pricing questions
Is the estimate the final price?
It is an estimate based on what you select. The final figure is confirmed with you during the free consultation, before any work begins — and it does not change afterwards. If your situation turns out to be more involved than it first appeared, you will hear that before the work is done, not on the invoice.
Why does a corporate return cost more than a personal one?
A T2 requires GIFI financial statements alongside the return itself, reconciliation of the corporation's books, and decisions about salary versus dividends that affect both the corporate and personal returns. It is several pieces of work rather than one.
I have no income this year — do I still have to file?
Usually yes, and it is usually worth it. Several benefits are only paid if a return is filed, including the GST/HST credit and the Ontario Trillium Benefit. That is what the $30 low-income return is for.
Do you charge for the consultation?
No. The 15-minute call is free and carries no obligation. If it turns out you do not need an accountant, that is a perfectly good outcome of the call.
